| 07-09-10 Ivy is a 4 year old ex-breeding Beagle. She is friendly and is in to everything. She is a little nervous at the moment but knows how to walk on a lead and is a very lovely girl. PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home ex-breeding dogs where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. This dog is at the main rescue centre in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THIS DOG: Please read our adoption procedures before applying and complete the Adoption Form. You will be contacted within 24 hours. If successful you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog. All our dogs are micro-chipped, had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £160 for dogs at the centre. Anyone interested in rehoming Ivy should contact Many Tears directly here http://manytearsrescue.webs.com/contactusdirections.htm

| Ivy is an absolute joy to have around. She is such a lady and an absolute sweetheart. There have been a couple of accidents but these have been at night. She is very shy and frightened of lots of everyday things. Sudden movements are a big thing - she just runs for cover! and she DOES NOT like brooms! but curiosity is gradually helping her overcome her fears. She needs lots of encouragement to eat. We have managed to go from hand feeding her to just sitting with her while she eats. Ivy gets on fairly well with our own 2 dogs, they do have a grumble at each other every now and then but this really is just a 'getting to know you' kind of thing there has been no real aggression - from either side and they have been left for short periods of time alone with no problems. Although we have not actually seen how she is with cats her gentle nature etc leads us to believe she would probably be ok. Ivy is definitely a peoples dog she loves her cuddles A LOT. She also gets on just fine with our 3 children (13, 12 & 7) walks great on the lead (even our youngest can walk her!) and travels well in the car. Ivy is a good all rounder and would suit an older person/couple, just as much as she would a family. She has so much to give and we can see her settling into her forever home very well. Seeing her go will be a real tear jerker for us! Oh and she snores!!! Being fostered in Melksham, Wiltshire. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £170 for our dogs in foster homes to help cover our costs. |

| 08-10-10 UPDATE WOW! Ivy really is coming on leaps and bounds, she is such a happy girl, still a little shy at times, usually when meeting new people, or when you make a sudden move towards her she just makes a run for it, but again curiosity gets the better of her so she's back for more soon enough and it doesn't take long for new people to win her round! We let her off the lead whilst out walking (in a field) yesterday and it was great to see her just run with the other dogs and have some fun, and her re-call isn't too bad but if there is something/someone more interesting than you then it may take a little more persuasion for her to return immediately but we would certainly have no worries letting her off the lead again. Ivy has met lots more dogs whilst out and about on walks and there has been no problems at all, she has now met a cat and again no problems there, but meeting a cat in the street is different to living with one! Ivy loves to play and she has us in fits of giggles running round the garden playing chase with our other 2 dogs, there have been no more accidents since her first week with us, and she sleeps very nicely in our kitchen (usually in an open crate) with 1 of our other dogs. Being fostered in Melksham, Wiltshire. | 24-10-10 UPDATE Well, my foster family are in complete disbelief that I've not had even one application. I've made lots of friends in our local area of the 2 and 4 legged kind and they too are very surprised that I've not yet found my forever home! This week has been quite eventful for me. I am now 'flying solo' (off the lead to you folk) on most of our walks which means I have more chance to play with my friends when we meet up. I'm not quite so shy when doing the school run. I have also had a bath this week which was lovely and although I was a little bewildered I did enjoy it. I don't care much for being left alone and may cry a bit and sometimes chew but so long as things are out of my reach then this isn't a problem - I haven't chewed furniture. A WORD FROM MUM & DAD Well all we can say is that if you want a loving caring loyal companion then look no further, we don't feel we can do Ivy justice on these updates. If you really want to get to know her true character then please apply and come visit, you wont be disappointed!! Being fostered in Melksham, Wiltshire. | 15-11-10 UPDATE Ivy is continuing to come on leaps and bounds, our only concern is that she is being ‘bypassed’ on here which is such a shame as she is an absolutely beautiful and loving dog she has so much to give! Her re-call now is improving by the day although any new owner would have to gain her trust before letting her off the lead etc as she is still pretty shy and nervous in new surroundings and around new people she displays this nervousness by shying away, she is also completely housetrained but we must add that again due to her nervousness in new surroundings she would probably need a little patience in this area in her new home, for her it really is about about gaining trust so please don’t overlook this beautiful girl and give her that second chance she so desperately craves and deserves!!!!

| Ivy has now been with us for a week having moved foster home through no fault of her own. She has settled down well and quickly and made friends with our resident Westie and resident cat with no problems. She travelled well from Chievely to the Isle of Wight but she needs to be crated when travelling as she tends to escape over the back seats of our hatchback! She had a couple of accidents in the home the first couple of days but is learning toilet training. She loves her food and will do anything to have a treat. She sits on command and is learning to sit before her meals. She pulls on the lead and we are working on this and but she is fine off the lead and socialises well with other dogs and is great with children. Her recall is pretty good although she does tend to wander if she gets whiff of an interesting scent but will always come back eventually. She is a gentle, placid and happy soul who would fit into any environment whether it be an older couple, young family etc. and could easily go as an only dog. She can be a little shy at times but once she feels confident, she is absolutely fine. All in all she is a great dog with no issues whatsoever. I hope someone will give her a chance for a forever home as she truly deserves it and will be a real little faithful companion. Being fostered in the Isle of Wight.
