27-09-10 Notus is a 12 week old male lab puppy. He along with his litter mates Nemo and Niko are very handsome boys. This litter of pups are all looking for homes with other resident dogs to help them gain confidence in their new homes. Notus was unsold by his breeder as it was thought he has a heart murmur. Our vet will look at this tomorrow.

This dog is at the main rescue centre in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THIS DOG:
Please read our adoption procedures before applying and complete the Adoption Form. You will be contacted within 24 hours. If successful you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog. All our dogs are micro-chipped, had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £160 for dogs at the centre.

Anyone interested in rehoming Notus should contact Many Tears directly here http://manytearsrescue.webs.com/contactusdirections.htm

Notus has been to the vets for his second injection and whilst there had a thorough examination as we know he has a heart murmur. Unfortunately, my vet has diagnosed the problem as being Patent Ductus Arteriosis (PDA) which is a life threatening condition that will lead to his early death. The good news is that it is possible to operate on the little chap and if successful he could have a normal happy life. Like all medical procedures, this operation is not without risks and is not cheap - we have been told £1,000 but maybe more depending on the severity of his condition so please can you help us by either donating or raising money for him? Please send money either by PayPal or cheque and clearly marking that it's for Notus. We need to get this done urgently as at the moment he is happy and in good condition but as he grows he will deteriorate to the point when it will be too late to operate. Thank you.

Being fostered in Crawley, West Sussex.

So sad Sad RI little one

After being diagnosed with Patent Ductus Arteriosis (PDA) and long discussions between the Sylvia, Diane our specialist vet and Notus’ lovely fosterer, it was decided together that Notus would undergo surgery. This took place today and we are extremely sad to say Notus did not wake up from his operation. The operation itself went well although Notus’ heart was very enlarged and Diane could not get him to wake up. It is thought that the pressure may of caused a brain hemorrhage. Some may say that

we should not of gone ahead with the operation and but we stand by our decision and just want to thank Notus’ fosterer Julie for the amazing time Notus had whilst in her care. Julie stood by every decision made and cared and loved poor Notus and a huge hole has been left in many hearts. Tonight take a look up and an extra star will shine very brightly - run free sweetheart.
