| 20-10-10 Cookie is about 4 months old and is a lab cross. She is more slightly built than a lab so possibly cross with something a little lighter or taller. She was rescued in Ireland and is now here with her sister looking for a new home. They are very sweet pups but sad to be here in the kennels. Neither would walk alone so another confident dog in the household is a must. Cookie has a slightly shorter coat than Candy and is the more worried of the two. These girls are desperate for a kind and loving home although it does not have to be together. This dog is at the main rescue centre in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THIS DOG: Please read our adoption procedures before applying and complete the Adoption Form. You will be contacted within 24 hours. If successful you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog. All our dogs are micro-chipped, had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £160 for dogs at the centre. Anyone interested in rehoming Cookie should contact Many Tears directly here http://manytearsrescue.webs.com/contactusdirections.htm

| 21-11-10 UPDATE Cookie has sadly been returned to kennels from her foster home as she is constantly chasing the cat. | We collected Cookie on Sunday and she greeted us both with wags and snuggles. Cookie is a lovely, affectionate and clever pup. She has the appetite of a hungry elephant, but she has been starved, so this is expected! We have seen no food aggression towards us or the other dogs. She has curled her lip at the dogs when she is having a cuddle from one of us but has made no further moves. The lip curl ceases as soon as you tell her 'No'. She just loves cuddling up with them in the open crate or on the beds though. Cookie has met the cats, and has just stared! I think she would give chase to a running cat but as soon as the cats make eye contact with her she looks away immediately. A good swipe from a bold cat would send her running. Cookie is so responsive, she is doing clicker work which she adores and her manners are improving daily. A firm 'No' will make her stop any unwanted behaviour. She is a work in progress, of course, she is a puppy! With good boundaries, set from the start, consistent guidance and continued training, this girl is going to be fabulous. The photo does not do her justice, she is petite, much smaller than a lab, has rich brown tones through her coat and is so, so pretty. If you are prepared to work with this young girl, you will have the best friend you could wish for. Please make her Christmas a better one by having a family of her own (and some turkey as we are all vegans!). Being fostered in Guildford, Surrey. | 10-01-11 UPDATE Cookie has been with us for a while now and just gets better each day. Her manners have improved though her desperation for food has not! As soon as she gains a little weight, she goes and grows a bit more! She is quite tall now and very leggy. We still cannot figure out what she is crossed with! Her recall is excellent, she mixes very well with dogs and is able to just watch the cats without being bothered by them. Cookie is still not asking to go out and will wee on the floor so we are as you would be with a small puppy, sending her out each hour and having a party when she performs correctly! She is a little unhappy with being put out when its so cold, unless it is lunch time! I am a bit stuck with what to say, she is just a lovely, gentle, sweet pup with so much love to share. She needs guidance as all pups do and time to settle in her new home. Once settled she will be a fantastic addition to a family as long as they have another dog and are willing to ride the settle wave! Come and visit and see if you can resist the charms of Cookie!
