PostSubject: Dog stolen - Eastbourne **FOUND**    Sat Nov 13, 2010 11:24 am

A friend of mine has had her dog stolen this afternoon, from outside of the Waitrose store in the Old Town area of Eastbourne. He is a real friendly chap called Snoop, a Staffie cross.
She quickly reported this to the local Police and has spoken to our local Dog Warden.
I will also post this up on Dogs Lost UK ; she is e-mailing me photos, which I will add here when I recieve them.
I am sure many of you are thinking that he shouldn't have been left outside a store on his own, you are not alone in that thought but remember there are still some trusting souls out there. Sadly she is now without her dog.

Jane , his owner says , "He is the sweetest natured dog and will come to any dog lover, but is scared of people who don't like him or dogs in general."

Snoop is home ! Here is what his owner posted on Dog Lost;

Hi,
Its snoops family here and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the people who have been involved in the search. The joyful news it that I found snoop this afternoon at about 12.30.
He was with two men one of which was rather aggressive and rather drugged up. They asked me for £100 but I said no as he has been my dog for three and a half years. I said I would look into it if they gave me the dog now. They let me take him away so I carried him home as he had no lead.
When home I had a phone call from a man named Stephen who saw the posters and lives near by. He had already stopped the men and tried to get the dog back from them. So a massive thank you to him also.
I have already taken snoop to the vets to be chipped and have bought him a new lead. I have been to all the vets in Eastbourne to let them know we have found him safely and now need to inform the police and dog warden. I also need to take down all the posters.
Needless to say I have now leant a lesson and will not leave snoop outside a shop again. Many more people are aware of this site because of snoops disappearance and I will also keep checking so that my eyes are peeled for lost and stolen dogs. So more eyes on the streets. This has taught me two things; that the word can be a sad and dangerous place but that the beautiful people far out weigh the bad people.
With thanks jane
