19th December update
Felix has now been with us for 2 weeks and is coming on well. He is having 4 meals a day to build him up, and has put on around 3Kg already. He has had anitbiotics and medicated showers for his skin, which is now much better. He is now playing with some of the other foster dogs and really enjoying the snow! But he still has a long way to go.
5th December update
Felix has had serveral good meals today, and this evening has had a medicated shower. He was so good, it was a real pleasure to help him. He is much more comfortable now, and the shampoo helped to get a lot of the scurvy dead skin out of his coat, so he's less itchy (he smells better too!). He's currently drying off on a nice warm bed!
Felix is our Christmas appeal dog – we took him, in early December, from the dog pound where he had been picked up as a stray, badly neglected and emaciated. He needs urgent medical treatment and building up, which we will provide for him in a foster home. He has an untreated skin condition and has sores all over his body – he is very unsettled and clearly in some discomfort. Felix is due to see the vet on 7th December when it will be decided what treatment he needs. He is not likely to be ready for rehoming for some time and his treatment is not likely to be cheap. Can anybody spare a few pence to help get Felix back on the road to recovery – every donation, however small, makes a difference!
