Joan and I are sorry to have to tell you all that we received a phone call to say that Coco's body was found under a bush at the side of the Red Road in Lightwater this afternoon. She was found by workmen sent out to repair a damaged barrier and it would appear she was hit by a vehicle and hopefully didn't suffer.
It does sound as though it happened some time ago, so we take some comfort from knowing that the poor girl wasn't wandering around lost and afraid for too long.
Those of you who knew Coco know that she lived to 'chase' and at the end of her days was just doing what she loved to do.
We have been overwhelmed by the responses from everyone since Coco went missing and can't thank you all enough, whether it was for your kind thoughts, your involvement in the poster campaign or help in searching for her.
Rest in peace my little girl, you will never be forgotten.
Keith

| I know he didnt write it, but this is a great tribute posted up on BIGGSD under Johns name. Sums her up beautifully. Just for those of you who did not know Coco's background, she came to me from Gill in Ireland who loved her and to say she was a "free spirit" would be an understatement! She was the only dog I have ever had here to this present day that I had to put a 2ft extension on my existing 5ft fence, as she could clear it with ease! As a consequence, she went to a couple of different homes but was always returned because a lot of people couldn't cope with this and her high energy drive
As a result, she stayed with me for some months and we built up a very strong bond. Although, I was sad to see her go, I knew Keith and his family had the time and determination to make her into the dog that she became and although she never lost her "adventerous" side, the bond and love that grew was second to none.
Thank you Keith and Joan for giving this special girl a wonderful home and life for the last 3 years - she will always hold a special place in my heart, as I know she will in yours.
God Bless you Coco. I was fortunate enough to have known Coco in her home environment as well as out on walks. I also remember being her charge on a Vigil AGM when she was with John. I know how much she will be missed by the whole family. Although a short life, a very happy life. Baby |
