Bill and Ben

Bill and Ben are brothers who will be 10 years old in June 2011.
They are entire, male, German Shepherd dogs who are very friendly and lovable.
They have lived together all of their lives and so need a home together.
Their owner died and a member of the family took them on but became homeless and was unable to keep them.
They have had a very unsettled few months and have just arrived at the rescue.
They are both due to be assessed by the vet; Ben is likely to need some dental work and both may need anti inflammatory medication as they are both slightly lame.
Can you offer this delightful pair a settled retirement home?

Bill and Ben
7th March Update following vet examination
Ben weighs 44.3 kg and is underweight – he has no muscle tone and needs building up. He has marked halitosis and periodontal disease. He will need multiple extractions and has been put on antibiotics to treat the infection prior to planned surgery on Thursday 10th March.
Bill weighs 41kg and, he too, is underweight with no muscle tone. He has one rotten molar which is full of pus and he needs that tooth removed. He also has a very pendulous scrotum which hangs abnormally low which needs to be removed. Bill also has a lump on the front of his left leg which is causing him some discomfort. He has been put on antibiotics pre- operation to treat infection and is due to have surgery on the same day as his brother.
Bill and Ben were absolute angels at the vets – they must be in great discomfort with so much infection yet both remained good natured and calm. We are sure that they will feel heaps better after they have recovered from surgery. The estimated cost of sorting these dogs out is £1,000, an amount which the rescue can ill afford following on from the significant expense incurred in relation to Eliza and Felix, but we will find the money from somewhere – these two old gents are certainly worth it!
