Hi there,
Archie is doing well and is gradually getting better with the car. He is generally a very good boy but has a naughty 90 minutes every evening where he does nothing but look for trouble. It drives us mad but we can't help laughing. He has been on some super walks with new found friends and just loves to run with those long legs and flapping ears to meet other ramblers and their dogs. Everyone who meets him adores him; my friend offered to swap her dog for Archie. The answer was "no way".

If someone can tell me how to load a jpg photo, I'll load some pics up from time to time.

Here are a couple of recent pics, taken in the last week.

Here's our boy Archie today with his favourite toy...a squeaky ball with feet, inside an old knotted sock. Such a sensible dog...

Here are some pics from today - 10 Oct 09 in a park in Sussex near my mum and dad's home.
Sorry all a bit blurry - he moves rather fast!

Here's our handsome boy at Five Arches park today (18 Oct). He met many dogs and had a fabulous time.

Archie is such a handsome boy now. We love him to bits. Those three homes that rejected him had no idea what they were missing. Their loss is our gain and we are so lucky we found him.

Here are some recent photos of him

... and a few from the snowy time in December and January

Nothing particularly outstanding about this set of photos, except today we are celebrating the first anniversary of adopting Archie and these photos were taken this morning.

We don't know all of Archie's past, just that he was found as a stray in Dublin, shipped over to England on 6 August 2009 and had three failed homes before we found each other on 6 September 2009 at a foster home on the Isle of Wight.

Because we have no idea when his real Birthday is, we have set it to 6 September 2008, as he was about a year old when he was rescued. So now he is officially a terrible two.

Happy Birthday, little boy.

A few recent pics of Archie. Here he is on a fund-raising walk last month. About 40 dogs take part in a monthly walk in aid of the Large Breed Dog Rescue. Archie lives for these walks and has a fantastic time. He has fallen seriously in love with a Labradoodle called Betty. They are known by the regulars as Heathcliff and Kathy!

We were first to arrive at the meeting area. I sat in the shelter of a large Sweet Chestnut tree and Archie was eager but waited patiently for his friends to arrive. "C'mon, where are they?"

Archie and Betty having a romantic moment while Betty's mum and dad aren't looking!

And here he is on "Doodle" walks in August and September.

We have started going to agility classes. On his first session, he was brilliant at the high dogwalk, A-frame, tunnels, tyre jumps and pause mat. Not so good at weaving or the see-saw yet but we are both novices, and he got a bit over excited with the hurdles. I need to keep him in check as he jumps between the hurdles as well as over them!

I weighed him yesterday - still 29 Kg. It's his ideal weight and he has remained that weight for six months now. We feed him Orijen and Acana dry food with tinned pilchard or sardine in the morning and raw meat and bone in the evening.

A quick update on my boy.

Here we are on our fourth session of agility. He gets a rather over-excited so I shall have to work on calming him down a bit - but look at him go! He is not phased by anything on the course, just needs steadying on the see-saw. What fun!
