Thanks for dropping her off to me today Ron.

As already said she is very nervous. She is a bit "grumbly" when first meeting dogs but settled quite quickly. I left her in the garden for about an hour with just Kodi & Honey as Sassy (my gobby jrt) was a bit "in her face". Once she realised that neither the dogs nor I were at all impressed or taking any notice of her little grumbles she settled down. She has claimed the top step into my rabbit shed as her "safe place" and is sitting there watching the others. She is happy to have sassy come up to her but is nervous when the other two move. She is happy to skuttle behind me and greeted Emily (my daughter) quite happily.

Once the kids have gone to school I will leave the back door open so she can come in for a wander if she feels like it - not going to push her in any way.

She is definately going to need a confident experienced home that can give her the ability to be herself and encourge interaction whilst ignoring the minor grumbles etc. Also I think she will need a socially confident companion dog to encourage her.

Will update again once she has had time to settle down and realise this is a safe place.

Rosemarie

Well 24 hours can make a huge difference.

We did have a small "accident" overnight but I expected that. She was a bit restless with moving around a lot. However, she is happy to come and go in the house when requested. She knows her name and that all important dog word "NO" and responds to both . She eats neatly and well, constantly checking around to see what the others are doing.

She plays with all the dogs, even getting Honey to join in which is a miracle in itself. This morning she ran after David and wanted a quick fuss (this is a dog scared of men!!). She is a very solid dog and strong but very bidable. She appears to want to be fussed but after a couple of strokes she moves off again.

She can go like a rocket - especially and down stairs .

She is a really lovely girl who would benefit from having a large dog to play with as she is a bit "heavy footed" although Sassy is happy enough to play with her. In fact its Kodi who is the least impressed and a bit wary of her :hap: probably cos she is a bit full on charging around and he is used to his "victims" staying in one place

From Rosemarie her foster mum on 9/8/2010

She passed another "test" today. The lady who comes to help me shower Megan met her today and Molly happily bounded over for a quick fuss with no hesitation. She is showing her labrador side - very bouncy and solid - a big puppy really. Molly is a bit vocal when playing but not aggressively. The lady said that she wishes she had the space/time cos she would have snapped her up.

She has made no attempt to counter surf or bin raid and no destructiveness whatsoever. She is very strong and pulls like a train.

The only "down" about Molly is that she messes overnight but that should come right with time and paitence.

Molly had her first "telling off" last night for trying to counter surf. She reacted very well, stopping immediately. She did drop those huge ears of hers and looked a bit apprehensive but as soon as she realised that I was only using a few stern words and a small pull on her collar and nothing more was going to happen - incident done & dusted - she happily went to her corner and laid down (she has learnt down with the aid of my finger on the floor as well).

A quick intelligent dog.

Rosemarie

She has now had two consective clean nights (mind you I am out in the garden with them at 12.30 am!!).

Today she met one of hubby's male friends - she rushed straight up to him for a hug fuss - the poor man had three big dogs and sassy all going nuts for his attention. Molly does "verbalise" a bit but not in a threatening way. She is very "labrador" in her behaviour - running around constantly like a loon, bouncing around like a puppy and just wanting to be friends.

Today she tried to mouth my hand for attention but a quick firm NO stopped her.

She is just one big bouncy happy dog/puppy.

Rosemarie

From her foster mum Siobhan 31/5/2010

Molly arrived home from the funday with me yesterday. She has had a good night. She has settled in with my dogs and been happily playing with my mother in law's two dogs.. We all went out for a walk together this morning and met Paul with Poppy, and some others too.

The end of the walk, tired out dogs.

This has been the subject of debate for the last 2 days on all our walks. She has a labrador waddle, a fantastic curly tail, a squarish head (I'll see if I can find a photo), beautiful brown eyes, black coat with a hint of brown fur on her legs. Oh and one straight up and one floppy Scooby doo ear.

I have had mention to me Akita, Spitz, Belgian Shepherd, labrador, Working line German Shepherd. She is a medium size build, with such a wonderful temprement. I love the way she flopps into a sit with her back end to the side of her.

From her Foster mum Siobhan on 4/6/2010

Molly has been here a few days now.. We are all very fond of her. She is great around the kids. Gets on fabulously with my Blue.

She is looking for a new home. Preferably cat free (or one with a very understanding cat). She will bark at the cat and will chase them if they run. She does listen to the command "NO". My cats just ignore her and she does get fed up barking at them after a while.

Outside her recall is getting better, with treats. She stays with the other dogs. She does however lack confidence and will bark at dogs we meet. This does not last long however, and she happily wanders about with new dogs after a short time.

Anyone interested in rehoming the fabulouus Molly give Ron a call on 01273 236418.
As always homecheck and donation apply.

Molly will make a great family dog.

If you could see me now. I am beaming from ear to ear. Very Happy The dogs and I have all been up for a walk up the woods. And most of you who are following Molly's story will know that she lacks confidence.

Well today we walked past 5 dogs that Molly has never met before (at 4 different stages of our walk). Granted she was'nt about to stop to exchange formalities.. BUT she did NOT bark at a single one of them. sunny You could see she was very pleased with herself and loved being told that she was a good girl.

She has also been good with the new kitten. She is curious about it and has not barked at it today. Mind you if you saw the size of its claws... you would'nt want to bark at it either!!!
