14-07-10 Freddie is a stunning 2 year old failed gundog. This handsome springer spaniel is friendly and an absolute dream with other dogs. Freddie is a lovely chap and walks well on his lead. This lovely chap would love a family home where although he can be given lots of exercise he is also happy and quiet a placid nature, he is ever so laid back and would love a companion to live alongside as he loves human and dog interaction.

This dog is at the main rescue centre in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THIS DOG:
Please read our adoption procedures before applying and complete the Adoption Form. You will be contacted within 24 hours. If successful you will be home checked and you and all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the new dog. All our dogs are micro-chipped, had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £160 for dogs at the centre.

We picked Freddie up last Sunday (18 July) and brought him back to the Isle of Wight with no problems in transporting him via car and ferry. He was then introduced to our resident Westie, Olly, and although we had a couple of minor skirmishes in the first couple of days (not due to Freddie), they are the best of buddies. Freddie also has no problems with my cat. He is highly intelligent having picked up the commands sit and wait in a matter of minutes and he is now gradually learning to respond to his name. He is fully house trained. Freddie loves his early morning walks around the golf course although he does tend to pull on his lead quite a bit which we are working on. He is very laid back with a gentle nature and loves a bit of fuss and attention. When on the lead, he passes other dogs with no problem and even passed cattle in a field with no reaction. Today we took him to the beach and for the first time he played fetch with a ball and will return it and will drop it with the command leave. We took the opportunity of letting him off the lead to test his recall which is a bit patchy but not too bad on a first attempt. Freddie would make someone a loyal companion who is totally trustworthy even with children tested today ranging in ages from 5 to 11. Please consider giving Freddie a home as he will not let you down and only reward you with his kindness, affection and intelligence.

Being fostered in the Isle of Wight.
